BKLYN Yard and Greenpoint Food Market Make Slight Returns

BKLYN Yard closed in June when it couldn’t come to an agreement with its landlord, and the Greenpoint Food Market did the same when the Health Department came after it. But now they’ll be reborn (kind of) across from the old BKLYN Yard location. This Saturday, Mean Red (producers of BKLYN Yard) are putting on an Asobi Seksu show at 383 Carroll Street, an empty lot they’ve used for events in the past, and they’ve invited vendors from the Greenpoint Food Market to sell Asian-style falafel (Lei-Mo), tostadas (Hermelinda Mexicana), boiled peanuts (Dixie Spanish), Asian ice cream (Bao Bing), empanadas (Empanadas ¡dpm!), Korean barbecue (K-Thos), and sandwiches (Sandwich Friend). Also in the works: a sidewalk pig roast outside of a Williamsburg warehouse and an end-of-summer food-truck festival on Governors Island.
