Salt’s Cure, a combination butcher, deli, and restaurant from Chris Phelps and Zak Walters, has shouldered a light buzz since news of its pending arrival on Santa Monica Blvd. landed last fall. It even garnered a premature Yelp review in January. This past Sunday, owners told Grub Street that all inspections are passed, with hopes for an opening by the end of this week, once the first menus have been finalized. Selection will change often here, with an emphasis on the organic and local in preparations of charcuterie, steak frites, and other well-sourced showcases of Cali-raised eggs, meat, and fish. The space is similarly simple, spacious, and precise, with natural and industrial elements playing among plenty of natural light.
