All eyes appear to be on Philly tonight, tomorrow and in the days ahead as multiple TV programs focus in on some of the city’s favorite foods and the folks who make it. Tonight, TLC’s “Fabulous Cakes” takes a look at Chestnut Hill’s Bredenbeck’s and Night Kitchen bakeries. Also tonight, Lolita, the Mexican BYOB owned by Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran, will be the focus of a segment on Food Network’s “The Best Thing I Ever Ate.” Chef Robet Irvine will gush about the restaurant’s Mexican Tiramisu. As if that wasn’t enough media saturation for one night, Food Network’s new Adam Gertler vehicle, “Kid in a Candy Store” will feature Reading Terminal Market’s Flying Monkey Patisserie in tonight’s episode. Then on Wednesday and the following Wednesday, Memphis Taproom is playing host to two Food Network shoots, and will open early at 3 pm and offer draughts for $4 for anyone who shows up wearing their favorite brewery’s t-shirt and/or hat.
