Only in a city where something as uncivilized as Wing Bowl is embraced could an eating challenge as ghastly as Jake’s Sandwich Board’s new Philly Challenge be spawned. The challenge puts forth a five lb. sandwich, comprised of cheesesteak, roast pork, brisket or a combination of the three, four soft pretzels, a box of Tastykakes, 24 Peanut Chews and a Champ Cherry soda. And for any takers who can consume everything in 45 minutes or less, they get the whole mess for free and their name and photo posted on Jake’s Wall-of-Fame. No contenders have stepped forward yet, so Jake’s is upping the ante with the promise of a $100 gift card for the first person to complete the challenge.
