Marcus Samuelsson, who cooked for Obama yesterday, is throwing a party! Specifically, he’s offering an evening of small plates to celebrate his win on Top Chef Masters, where he outcooked the likes of Jonathan Waxman and Rick Moonen. Since he hasn’t yet opened his much-talked-about Harlem Restaurant, the Red Rooster, he’ll be taking over the newly refurbished bar area of August for the evening. À la carte dishes and canapés inspired by the show’s challenges, like foie gras ganache with peach chutney (pictured above), will be on offer. But reservations aren’t — just line up early and take your best shot on August 4 from 6 to 11 p.m.
