Magnolia Bakery, which has been mostly slammed to the sidewalk since opening a week and a half ago, is temporarily closed. Though the shutter came at the demands of L.A. Health Department, a restaurant reps says the issues are “only mechanical and engineering…and not related to any sanitary or health code violations.” A re-opening is planned on Monday or Tuesday, giving the bakery a few days to seek words of encouragement from Ilan Hall, who weathered a similarly ill-timed broiler incident for two months after The Gorbal’s debut.
