Julian Cox Making Iberico Old Fashioneds and Cherries Jubilee Cocktails Tonight

Photo: BreadBar

Tonight Julian Cox, Rivera’s star behind the bar, will appear at BreadBar’s Hatchi Mix to conduct “Tequila in Three Magical Acts.” The one-night pop-up sees Cox preparing eight blue agave cocktails based on the three sequences of a meal (app, entree, and dessert) while also invoking the three acts of a magic show. A rep tells us Cox, possibly in top hat and cape, will sneak preview new drink recipes headed to Rivera and its future sister R26. The appetizer libations include a sous-vide beet cocktail with goat cheese foam plus a green chili medley with mint and tequila, while an Iberico old-fashioned will make its way to the entree selections, and a cherries jubilee cocktail for dessert. The mix-master also promises to have some unexpected surprises hiding up his sleeve for tonight’s dinner where all drinks are eight dollars from 6:00 to close. See the full menu of cocktails below.

Reservations are available at 310-277-3770.
