How To Obey The Honor System or Steal Honest Tea Today

We’re tempted to drop this into our freebies file…but that would already be leading L.A.’s honest citizens astray. Today Honest Tea is turning Angelenos into its guinea pigs, leaving an unmanned pop-up store at The Grove stocked with one-dollar bottles on sale using “the honor system,” according to the company’s press release. Meanwhile, hidden cameras will be there to bust all of our butts for ganking one, giving our city low-marks on an honesty test and thus declaring us poor diplomats to L.A.. So far, we’re told Boston was the most honest with 92.3% of people paying for the drinks, followed by New York at 89.3%, and Chi-town proving itself to be more like Sheisty-Town at 78%. Expect to see the booth traveling around tomorrow as well, while the one at The Grove will be there from 10:00 A.M. to 6:00 P.M. today. And if the honor system doesn’t keep your nose clean, remember that the dough goes to non-profit City Year. See the full schedule of locations for today and tomorrow below.
