Exclusive: A Look Inside Zero Zero, Opening Wednesday

Zero Zero, the new restaurant and pizzeria from Bruce Hill (Bix, Picco) is the first of the new S.F. Neapolitan wave to come online, opening on Wednesday, July 28, in the former Azie space (826 Folsom) next to Lulu. The name refers to the type of fine Italian flour dedicated for pizza (Tipo 00), but Hill and chef Chris Whaley are also excited about the pasta and charcuterie they’ll be serving. It’s a big and inviting space (130 seats) that now features a crazy, Pinocchio-themed “history of pizza” mural over the bar on the second floor by designer Michael Brennan. Brennan also made a series of cool, custom, flame-themed light fixtures using reclaimed flea market parts, and Azie’s original Cuban mahogany bar only needed a little refinishing. See the food and cocktail menu here, and check out our full slideshow below.

Zero Zero - 826 Folsom Street - 415.348.8800 - Opening Wednesday, July 28, for dinner only. Open seven days a week. Lunch will be served starting August 23.
