Not one to be outdone by Steve Dolinsky’s list of best Italian beefs in the city, Chicago’s Best blog on Chicago Now released its picks for the best Italian beef, hot dog, and pizza. There are no shockers, but they are well chosen. Gene and Jude’s won for best hot dog, our personal favorite Chickie’s got best Italian beef, and Pequod’s picked up best deep dish. Of course, Gene and Jude’s is a minimalist dog, not a true Chicago hot dog, and Pequod’s technically makes a pan pizza and not a deep dish. But this is less of a scholarly dissertation, and more of an excuse to get Ted Brunson in the doors to act like a goof ball. [Chicago’s Best]
