Bruni’s No. 1 Favorite N.Y. Restaurant Won’t Open Chicken Joint Till End of Summer


Frank Bruni’s favorite restaurant in New York (per an Epicurious list of his worldwide top five) is kind of surprising: The man feasts at Hill Country once and sometimes twice a month! Take that, Le Bern. Meanwhile, Hill Country’s chef, Elizabeth Karmel — who has launched a website, Girls at the Grill and just came out with a line of wood chips and smoker boxes — says in a two-part Fork in the Road interview that Hill Country Chicken, originally planned for spring, will open “towards the end of summer.”
