Back in January of 2008, Adam Platt reviewed newcomers Bar Blanc (two stars) and Brasserie 44 (no stars). Bar Blanc Bistro closed for the summer last month and now Brasserie 44 joins it, per an announcement that went out today. You’ll recall that 44 recently brought on doorman god Fabrizio Brienza for glitzy parties, and it’s now taking time off to go still further in that direction. The restaurant will reopen for Fashion Week with “a new, additional bar and an enhanced design,” and “a cocktail collective that will further solidify the hotel as a midtown nightlife destination.” Meanwhile, breakfast, lunch, and dinner will be served in the lobby lounge.
