The much anticipated sandwich shop and bakery counter at Baker & Banker — housed at the rear kitchen entrance to the restaurant, around the corner from the main door at Bush and Octavia — is set to open on Sunday, August 1. Pastry chef Lori Baker promises a selection of fresh baked goods, coffee, beverages, as well as daily sandwiches like her brisket on homemade challah bread with horseradish cream. Going forward, the bakery will be open Wednesday through Sunday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
