Jelly’s nightclub (295 Terry Francois Boulevard), known for its salsa and Latin dance parties, is closing after the Port of S.F. rescinded their lease. As SFist reports, they need to be out by August 18. This follows on a shooting at Jelly’s last week that left one man dead, and on the Entertainment Commission’s subsequent pulling of their permit. Jelly’s is the third nightclub to close recently, with another Latin venue, Club Caliente, shuttering last spring after losing its liquor license (there were rumors about serving to minors), and Suede shuttering in February after a shooting that left one person dead and four injured.
