Our favorite item of the day comes from former mayor Willie Brown, who writes in to the Scoop a week late about his Memorial Day weekend eats. He actually threw a Sex and the City cocktail party in the private room at Lark Creek Steak for fourteen of his closest gal pals (“The drinks were those crazy things they have in the movie—the Cosmopolitans”), and they all gabbed like girlfriends and proceeded on to screen the movie at the Century Cinemas, with an after-movie supper and download session at Kokkari.
One can probably point the finger in the direction of Brown’s oft-seen lady friend Sonya Molodetskaya for spearheading the event and gathering the girls. We just can’t help but chuckle at his enthusiasm for the whole thing (if not for the sushi at Lark Creek), given that he is not gay and this is not 1998.
