Will Menus Be Replaced by MenuPads?

iPads have replaced clipboards at the Boom Boom Room, and that’s not all: An Australian company has released the MenuPad, which allows you to order (and preview) your food using an iPad. But this may not be the freakiest intrusion of technology in the restaurant world — has anyone noticed that at the midtown White Castle, you can now score sliders via an ATM-like touch-screen stand? Kind of like the wacky electronic kiosk outside of Grotta Azzurra, except you can actually order from it. If you’ve ever built your own Wawa hoagie this way, you know it’s scary stuff.
