Blame Steven Arroyo and his forthcoming Esquela if L.A. restaurants suddenly start showing the spelling proficiency of rappers. Arroyo likely wasn’t much of an influence on Venician Pizza and Pasta though, which is coming into the same Venice Blvd. strip mall as Gallegos Mexican Deli. Who knows what exactly will make it “Venician,” as it not only veers from the preferred spelling of the Italian city, but is under construction in Mar Vista, not Venice. Oh well, at least the name clearly braces us for fast-casual Italian here, coming in the next month or so.
