This Friday, the new Marriott Fairfield Inn and Suites will open the Sky Room atop its 34th floor. As previously mentioned, the venue will be operated by Thierry Pomies and Peggy Millard (Pomies was an owner of Azza and a manager at Pink Elephant, and Millard has run Spa and Capitale, among others), and it was designed by Stephen B. Jacobs and Andi Pepper, who’ve also worked with the Gansevoort, Library, and Giraffe hotels. During the weekdays till 2 a.m. there’ll be theme nights (cachaca specials during Wednesday’s Brazilian party, etc.), and on the weekends till 4 a.m. there’ll be D.J.’s and, of course, party brunches (bottles are $250 and up). Designers such as Rebecca Taylor and Nanette Lepore put their stamps on the dessert menu — and “proud vegan” Russell Simmons lent his name to a $15 “fruit fountain.” Check out the menus below, and the retractable roof and light-up floors in our slideshow.
