Chef Marcie Turney and Valerie Safran are still aiming at a July opening for Barbuzzo, the Mediterranean restaurant and bar that will be the duo’s sixth venture - their first with a liquor license - on 13th St. in the heart of Midtown Village. Turney expects to make as many of the restaurant’s ingredients as possible in house - everything from sausage and charcuterie to pasta and pickled vegetables. The menu, which has not been finalized will feature rustic, hand crafted regional fare inspired by the pioneering couple’s trip through Italy, Spain and Portugal last year.

The menu will include Wood Oven Roasted Sardines, with piquillo pepper and preserved lemon; Burrata Mozzarella, with chicory, spiced walnuts, honey and fried rosemary; Squid Ink Fideo, with manila clams, cumin and chickpeas; Minted Pea Tagliatelle, with braised pork, fava beans and pig cracklings; and Pizza “Uovo,” with spring onion, guanciale, fava leaves and farm egg, according to a prepared statement issued today. The menu will range in prices from $3 to $20.
