Over at Midtown Lunch, Miss Softee (which just returned for the season) is live-blogging the City Council meeting about the proposed law to lift the licenses of food trucks that violate parking laws three times a year. The highlights so far: “Oleg from the Schnitzel & Things Truck just presented a petition to Council Member Jess Lappin with over 5000 signatures in opposition to the bill!” and “The Mayor’s office has just handed in a letter in OPPOSITION to the bill!!!” According to The Wall Street Journal, the Street Vendor Project also succeeded in collecting thousands more signatures on mock parking tickets, all while chanting “Save street meat!”
