Despite backing off the clichéd “farm-to-table” descriptor when he announced plans for JG Domestic Fine Food & Spirits a few weeks ago - Americana was the term used - Jose Garces has bought a farm, according to the Restaurant Club. Garces’ green acres are located in Ottsville, a beautifully bucolic burg north of Doylestown in Bucks County. The Iron Chef’s immediate plan is to use the farm as a place for rest and relaxation with his family. Full time farm living is not his intention, but down the road he expects to build greenhouses and plant crops to supply his restaurants. There’s also talk of possible down-on-the-farm dinners that Garces will host in his farm’s barn. [Restaurant Club]
