The Meatball Shop’s ice-cream sandwich is, of course, merely the best (arguably) among many, and now Time Out has a look at seven more. They include the macaron-and-sorbet one at Dessert Club ChikaLicious, but where’s the equally unorthodox lobster-roll–inspired ice-cream sandwich at Ed’s Lobster Bar? Or the Red Cat’s banana–ice-cream sandwich? Or these other classics? To add to all that, the folks at Marc Forgione tell us the restaurant’s 22-year-old pastry chef Ashton Warren (curiously, she started there as a hostess in 2008 and was promoted last January) has now created a $9 “Peanut Butter & Jelly Sandwich” by putting strawberry ice cream between peanut butter cookies and then freezing the whole shebang.
