BayList Best Burger Winner Is in Palo Alto?

Speaking of burgers… there have been many ‘Best Burger’ lists around town, including ours from ‘09, and Bauer’s recent commenter poll. But now SFGate’s BayList voting app — which can be slow and crashy but we digress — has tallied 70,000 some odd votes and come up with the top six. Number one (which we think speaks to the demographics of a large segment of SFGate readers, or to Silicon Valley’s e-ballot-box-stuffing prowess, but we digress again) is a chain with a location in Palo Alto called The Counter.

None of these winners, with the exception of Burgermeister and Barney’s, were on our or Bauer’s lists, so take this with a grain of salt.

The list of winners is as follows:

#1: The Counter, Palo Alto

#2: Gott’s Roadside Tray Gourmet, Ferry Building

#3: Pearl’s Phat Burgers, Nob Hill

#4: Barney’s Gourmet Hamburgers, Noe Valley

#5: TIE - Burgermeister (whose burgers, despite making our earlier list, are not exactly consistent in quality and we’d never put them near the top five… could this chain have done a little ballot-box-stuffing, perhaps?)

AND - Rocker Oysterfeller’s Kitchen + Saloon, Valley Ford (Sonoma)
