What to Eat at EAT, Debuting at The Ambassador June 16th

Tommy Halvorson’s pop-up venture EAT, which so far has been sticking to its Monday guns at 111 Minna, is branching out to Wednesdays at Upper Tenderloin venue The Ambassador starting June 16. We gather that the bar with its telephone-connected booths has remained steadily popular with weekend drinkers, despite the whole per-table-charge model having gone the way of sub-prime mortgages. This new infusion of talent in the middle of the week should draw a fresh crowd, though, and the dark and lounge-y vibe should be a good complement to Halvorson’s clean and neo-classic New American fare.

Below, Halvorson’s full menu for the debut, which includes an exciting truffled “Scotch egg” and his sure-to-be-tasty take on chicken under a brick. Walk-ins will be welcome, but call 415.375.2321 if you want to make sure you get a seat.
