The Chicago Reader continues its series of roundup posts, this time with a list of “Twenty-Two Places for Burgers.” The list features spots from all over the city from Top Notch Beefburger to Edzo’s Burger Shop. Sula gets some fighting words in about Five Guys, and Kate Schmidt even sticks up for The Billy Goat Tavern: “The cheeseburgers, flat and greasy, are probably best ordered in the form of a double, but they’re helped along by raw onion and an unlimited supply of dill pickle slices.” [Chicago Reader]

Phil Vettel reviews Ju Rin after getting a tip from his doctor. The Geneva sushi restaurant mostly lives up to the prescription: “I wouldn’t go miles out of my way to eat at Ju Rin, but for the west suburban sushi lovers, and there are plenty of them, the fine quality and terrific value make this a place worth visiting.” [Trib]

Penny Pollack from Chicago Magazine writes a brief first impression of Rendezvous Bistro, and was taken with the place: “It’s small, intimate, charming and the real deal.” She loved the standards even if she hated the bread. But it was the sauces that got her, which she says she can’t talk about, “without weeping with pleasure.” [The Dish/Chicago Magazine]
