“I want to create more stuff,” Stephen Starr told us earlier this week. It seems that he already has. The restaurateur just signed an agreement of sale on the long-shuttered Broad Street Diner at Broad and Ellsworth, Philadelphia Magazine reports. For those keeping score, yes this is the same property that he briefly flirted with last year, but reportedly backed out of at the last minute due to environmental issues. Turns out those issues involve mold, but since the price for the space dropped, Starr’s more willing to pay for the cleaning. In his last effort to buy the building, Starr suggested a Greek or Mexican concept. Those ideas are tabled. But since it’s a diner, we vote for Continental South. [Restaurant Club]
