May 16th marks the 23rd annual Star Chefs and Vintners Gala to benefit Meals on Wheels, which is being held again at Fort Mason and being chaired for the seventh year running by Boulevard chef Nancy Oakes. As KQED reports, among the dream team of 70 chefs participating in the event are Jeff Banker and Lori Baker (Baker & Banker), Daniel Patterson (Coi), Douglas Keane/Nick Peyton (Cyrus), Thomas McNaughton (Flour + Water), Laurence Jossel (NOPA / Nopalito), and Mark Sullivan (Spruce).

In addition to an hors d’oeuvre grazing and wine tasting hour, there’ll be a three-course, sit-down meal prepared by teams of 8 chefs apiece, each assigned to an individual seating area.

Tickets are steep at $400 apiece, with patron levels rising into the thousands, but obviously it’s all for a good cause, and with this huge collection of culinary talent it amounts to one of the biggest and best local events of its kind.

Get tickets at 415-343-1280 or at their website.
