Lingba Replacement Gets a Name: Rocketfish

Though details remain scarce and we are still a couple months out from seeing a live restaurant, word reaches Grub Street today that chef Kenichi Kawashima’s new sushi-centric restaurant in the former Lingba space (18th and Connecticut) will be called Rocketfish.

The Potrero Hill eatery will join Skool, from fellow Blowfish alum Andy Mirabell, and Jocelyn Bulow’s next-door taqueria Papito among the ‘hoods new food offerings this summer or fall. [Grub Street, Earlier]
Update: Grub Street receives word from the team at Rocketfish (tagline: Japanese Tapistro & Lounge) that the place will feature “a unique blend of old-school Japanese cuisine with classic global tapas and sushi, all in a bistro-esque environment.” So, along with Art/s Tapas + Sushi Lounge, this will make the second sushi/tapas concept in town, but this one with the new portmanteau “tapistro.” [Grub Street]
