Does 60 Minutes know something about José Andrés that the rest of us don’t? In advance of tonight’s James Beard Awards, Anderson Cooper gave the “American chef that was trained in Spain” an opportunity to meet America. The chef is busy studying the molecular structure of mayonnaise and planning restaurants in Vegas, Miami, Paris and Mexico City while preparing to teach “Culinary Physics” at Harvard next year, but it’s his concern with the “other 97 percent of Americans that don’t come to our restaurants” that we found most radical about this boundary-pusher.
