H&H Honcho Gets Jail Time

About a year ago, H&H; was able to quickly reopen after it was closed for owing over $100,000 in taxes, but the famed bagel shop wasn’t out of the proverbial hole. Today, the Post reports that founder Helmer Toro has been sentenced to 50 weekends in jail for withholding $337,000 from employee paychecks. He’ll now have to put the mortgage on his 47th Street plant up as collateral.
