A new shop called Farmers Choice is landing next to Trader Joe’s on Pico in Santa Monica. A grand opening is scheduled for tomorrow morning at 10:00 A.M., but so far, no details have emerged about what it plans to sell. The name, along with signage that book-ends a bunch of spinach over a pair of dangling cherries, leads us to believe these guys are not in the insurance business. Our best guess is that this could be an extension of Farmers Choice Produce Inc., a fruit and vegetable wholesaler with a location in Agoura Hills. Either way, we think it’s safe to say there will be food on-sale here starting tomorrow, as well as a potential conflict for taking up space on Trader Joe’s block.
