Blokes and Birds Brings Englishness to Lakeview

Do you see the birds kissing?
Do you see the birds kissing?

Billing itself as a contemporary English gastropub with an ear for classic rock, Blokes and Birds is set to open in Lakeview in late June. The title is a play on the British slang term for boys and girls (especially those who go out too much). The graphic is one of those simple optical illusions, which either shows a mustache (Blokes) or two birds kissing (Birds), which we probably shouldn’t read too much into. The full menu isn’t out yet, but it’ll feature some well known classics like shepherd’s pie along with something called a beef Wellington burger. All this pub theatrics also means that it’s advertising its World Cup coverage, which also conveniently starts next month. The website is won’t be up for a while, but check them out on Twitter for now.
