Mo' Fro-Yo, Mo' Problems

Will Harvard Square House Hub’s First Pinkberry?

Pinkberry is eying the old Alpha Omega Jewelers space in Harvard Square, reports the Crimson. “We’re not close to signing anybody yet,” landlord rep Daniel Fraine tells the paper, but he confirms that the fro-yo mega-chain has expressed interest in the space. Pinkberry announced plans to expand to Boston way back in November, but this is the first rumor of a specific location.

The Alpha Omega space was, of course, home to The Tasty, the exemplary greasy spoon memorialized in Good Will Hunting, which closed in 1997 after 81 years in business. If Pinkberry does take the space, this will be an even more clear-cut example of the difference between the old v. new Harvard Squares than when Tory Row took over the Greenhouse.
