Village Chillage: Grisly Pear Is DOH’d, Vyne Wine Bar Opens

Yesterday the Grisly Pear, better known to MacDougal Street cruisers as That Irish Bar Next to Off the Wagon (yes, it’s called the Grisly Pear), was shuttered by the Health Department after failing to display its permit. We’d show you the Health Department signage and the accompanying note explaining that trivia night was canceled, but this cat on a leash that we saw nearby is so much cuter, no? The bar is expected to reopen tonight. Meanwhile, around the corner, Vyne has soft-opened at 82 West Third Street. According to Fork in the Road’s preopening intel last month, the wine bar from Inez Bon of NL focuses on “European wines, affordable pours, and — most interestingly — white wines.”
