Much like Momofuku Ko raised the price of its prix fixe after reviewers called it a steal, Torrisi Italian Specialties has, according to Feast, hiked the price of its tasting menu to $50 after Rob Patronite and Robin Raisfeld, in their five-star review, called it “a tremendous bargain, and a serious delight.” Of course, Ko ended up hiking its prices twice (first by $15 and then by another $25), so an extra five bucks is just a drop in the bucket to experience Mario Carbone’s refined, nightly changing dishes to the tune of “Don’t Stop Believing” (seriously, this is the first place we’ve eaten at in a while that made us wish Grub Street’s “House Mix” column were still in effect).
