This Saturday morning, the Culinary Historians of Southern California will bring together a super-group foursome of former L.A. Times writers that ran the paper’s Food Section from the late Sixties to the Eighties. Readers likely know the active Barbara Hansen, will who be there alongside cookbook authors Betsy Balsley and Rose Dosti, and test kitchen priestess Donna Deane to share stories, as well as insights into how media has changed, like how the section went from 40-50 pages of columns and recipes in their day to the thin sliver of whatever it is now. The event is free and, lest you’re not hooked yet, there is food afterward!
