Downtown chef John Rivera Sedlar is bringing his modern Latin cooking to the Westside for one night next Wednesday, along with Rivera’s mix-master general, Julian Cox. Held in conjunction with Los Angeles magazine, where critic Patrick Kuh named Rivera one of his top ten new restaurants last month, Rivera Sedlar will demonstrate how he cooks his vieiras Arabesque (sea scallops with eggplant, preserved lemon, and ras el hanout) and a chocolate cake with caramel and Seville orange, while Cox prepares Casino gin cocktails and Ian Blackburn pairs the wine. The cost is only $20 to attend, learn, and eat, with reservations available only by credit card purchase through L.A. Mag’s Estrellita Dacanay at 323-801-0034.
April 28th, 7:00-9:00 P.M. at Snyder Diamond, 1399 Olympic Blvd. Santa Monica.
