A food truck court is opening near L.A.X., with nine vendors–including Don Chow, South Philly Experience, and India Jones—rallying today for the debut of what hopes to be a weekly event. Planned for every Tuesday, The Daily Breeze says truck options will consistently change among the 90-strong panoply, giving poor souls chained to desks in the neighborhood a new array of options. Today’s opening involves a “Gateway to Go” celebration at The Crowne Plaza Hotel from 11:00 A.M. to 3:00 P.M., with party proceeds going to support cancer research. As there are fewer fast restaurants around here to scratch and moan about “unfair competition,” this Westchester-Inglewood adjacent endeavor might be the first successful stretch of L.A. to create its own food truck lot and not see it shut down within a month.
