In case you couldn’t care less about 22 flavors of burger, Fairfax will get the Montrose-imported Fat Dog gastropub towards the end of summer. Located just a few blocks above Melrose, next to the new cafe Commissary, Fat Dog is owned by the married Mandeville duo and is cheffed by John Gladish, who appears to be behind the menu at H.Wood as well. Feast foresees sirloin dogs and paninis, while an online menu gets us excited for jalapeno mac and cheese and a braised short-rib French Dip that the Animal boys might dig having up the street. Expect draft beer, happy hours, and “artwork” honoring the couples’ dog, among the comfort eats that seem to include something for everyone, even another burger.
