We suppose nothing says Opening Day better in Chicago than having a hot dog…or twelve. The Weather Mark Tavern will show both games today, concluding with the 2nd Annual Hot Dog Eating Contest at 6 p.m. We just checked, and slots are still open if you arrive by 5 p.m. The best part: Though it will cost you $4 for a hot dog and chips to watch, it doesn’t cost anything to compete. We spot a deal. Just don’t try to be like Kobayashi.
In other hot dog eating/baseball news, Titus from Smokin’, Chokin’, and Chowing with the King continues his review of his favorite hot dog stands to hit before watching the game. Last week it was the Cub friendly Murphy’s Red Hots. Today, he highlights Morrie O’Malley’s as the perfect stop on the way to see the Sox at U.S. Celluar Field. But hurry up kids, the game starts…now.
