David Chang, Michael Pollan, and Some Vegetable Vendor Make ‘Time 100’

Dan Barber made the “Time 100” last year, and this year’s obligatory chef pick is (you guessed it) David Chang. Ruth Reichl pens an encomium for him that by this point we’ve read a thousand times. Also on the list: Deputy Secretary of Agriculture and author of the 1990 Organic Foods Production Act Kathleen Merrigan (who is praised by Dan Barber); Michael Pollan (who “Pollanized” Alice Waters into never serving corn-fed beef); and (less predictably) a Taiwanese vegetable seller who has donated thousands to charity.
