New York’s City Winery is coming to Chicago in 2011. The “membership winery” purchases grapes from California and Argentina, and then produces the wine in the store. Plans for other large cities are in the works, but Chicago — with its huge wine market and relative lack of actual wineries — was an obvious first choice. Along with the wine, the current SoHo location also has a restaurant and bar and doubles as a live-music venue. For now, all we have is “central Chicago” as a possible location. [Decanter]
