City Shutters M2 and Pink New York

The city has shut down M2 and its sister club Pink New York (as Pink Elephant is now apparently being called), not because of an ongoing hearing about its smoking policies, but rather because of “drug dealing, marijuana smoking and violent, out-of-control crowds both inside and outside the club,” according to the Times. Since November 2008, undercover cops bought drugs (including ecstasy and special K) nine times. The club’s owner, Joey Morrissey, says the case doesn’t “amount to a hill of beans.” Indeed, we’ve seen this before: Crobar, anyone?
