Vinoteque reaches out to us with the news that Joshua Smookler has been officially replaced by K.C. Ma as executive chef. Ma’s career started at Water Grill, and was followed by a move to Providence with Michael Cimarusti, and a later stint at Craft. There will be both a new brunch and menu items under Ma’s reign, with the addition of small plates that will change daily as market trips determine, though some micro greens and herbs are grown on-site. The small plates will feature heavily in a new happy hour that starts today with dishes like Fiji albacore with pickled jalapeño and cantaloupe compressed with St. Germain and bleu cheese-stuffed Kobe Sliders, all priced at nine bucks or less. Happy hour starts today at 5:00 P.M. and brunch begins this Friday at 10:30 A.M.
