We were used to the idea of getting a free taco with our booze at a spot like The Gold Room, but a new offer of free Italian nibbles at Cecconi’s could change our drinking habits considerably. Everyone drinking a cocktail at the Italian beauty’s bar between 5:00 and 7:00 P.M. will be given complimentary apertivo that will change daily with chef Andrea Cavaliere’s whims. There will be no printed menus, but we’re told guests can expect pizzette, parmesan chunks, mixed olives, pierino (apparently a sort of “croque signore”), grissini wrapped in slices of Parma ham, and bruschetta, among many other spuntino and small plates. To top it off, there’s free valet parking until 6:00 P.M. daily. Hope they have a big garage!
