Big Star has been on our list of Chicago institutions with unbelievably long lines for awhile now. But let’s go ahead and add its summer patio to the list. Admitting that the crowd was, “Busier than thought possible”, owner Paul Kahan snapped this photo at what appears to be 2:16 a.m. on Saturday, and quips that this is “Death by honkytonk.” Who said the hipsters would miss The Pontiac Café?
