The frozen yogurt chain Berry Chill filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection yesterday, claiming they had opened too many outlets in “bad locations.” Their River North outlet is still profitable, but two Loop locations are underperforming because they are closed on nights and weekends. The company has not announced whether either location will stay open, but we doubt it. All this bankruptcy talk doesn’t mean the company isn’t thinking of expansion: A rumored Lakeview location is already in the works. [Crain’s]
