As expected, the front room of the East Village Dallas BBQ has gotten a slick remodeling — here’s a peek at the wooden planks, exposed brick, and Edison bulb chandeliers! And presto: With the flick of a switch wired to a filament bulb, an establishment that once defined “drab” has gone allMason Dixon and Johnny Utah’s on us. On the surface, this seems ridiculous, but hey, now that BBQ is officially foodie approved, why shouldn’t they go for stockyard chic? At least they didn’t put any taxidermy up.
