Weve heard of neighbors contesting liquor licenses, but other businesses? Thats whats happening in Red Hook, according to the Brooklyn Paper. They report that a new wine store on Van Brunt Street, Botta di Vino, was approved by the SLA only to suffer a setback when the owners of a nearby shop, Dry Dock, stormed into the hearing and convinced the commissioners to reopen the case due to stunning last-minute evidence. The stunning evidence? Botta hadnt removed something on its website that implied customers would be able to enjoy a glass of wine in its courtyard. Theyll have another hearing March 31.
