Less than a year after Greenpeace graded Trader Joe’s an “F” for selling over-fished species and launched a mocking “Traitor Joe’s” website, the national grocery chain announced that it will sell only sustainable seafood in its stores by the end of 2012. Joe’s stopped selling red snapper just this month to show-off its new-found good will and pledged to include fish origin and the catch or production method on labels, says Mother Nature Network. We’ll see if Trader Joe’s can meet its commitments, but for now Greenpeace is declaring “Victory!”
